Karang Tirta: A Beautiful Village with Attractive Spots

Swimming at the lagoon, fishing, canoe trip and village tour are some of many activities you can carry out in wonderful Karang Tirta.

The clean and still salt water extend from the lagoon and estuary to the sea. A long empty sandy shore meet the Indian ocean as part of West Java south coast. Coconut trees grow so high to the sky and decorate the village. The herdsman prepares the buffaloes to plow the earth on a rice field. Great variety tropical plants grows on riverbanks. Fishermen set their nets on a bamboo construction. They are beautiful scenery and views you can get in Karang Tirta.

Karang Tirta is located in Desa (village) Sukaresik, Kecamatan (sub-district) Sidamulih, Pangandaran Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia. In the village, there's a river heads to the lagoon and estuary. You can witness the atmospheric scene from he combination of all elements in 20 minutes travel time from Pangandaran beach.

How to Get There

First, go to Pangandaran. Take a flight from Halim Perdanakusumah Airport (Jakarta) or Husein Sastranegara Airport (Bandung) to Nusawiru Airport (Pangandaran). The flight is available daily (Susi Air). You can take a bus from Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal too (Jakarta) or, from Bandung, you can take a direct bus to Pangandaran in Cicaheum Bus Terminal. With a bus, the estimated time travel is 9 hours from Jakarta and 7 hours from Bandung. From Jogjakarta, it's7 hours. Another alternative is to rent a car. Join a group or a party to lighten the cost.

From Pangandaran, follow Jalan Raya (highway) Cijulang. After 10 km distance, turn left at Karang Tirta board sign and follow the road. If you take a bus from Pangandaran Bus Terminal, ask the driver to stop at the board sign and walk to Karang Tirta. Some hotels provide a service to pick you up from Pangandaran Bus Terminal or Nusawiru Airport.

As you enter Karang Tirta, you will be charged IDR 3.000. A car (MPV or SUV) traveler is charged IDR 30.000 and IDR 6.000 for motorbike rider.

Where to Stay

Many hotels and homestays are available for service. The rates are variable. It starts from IDR 50.000. A hotel rate like Java Lagoon ranges from IDR 150.000 to IDR 300.000.

Where to Eat

If you hungry, find any restaurant around Karang Tirta. Restaurant are easy to find. Cooking your own meal on the shore might be a great sensation.
